The Handwriting On The . . . .


Even the coldest heart has to sympathize with the fast food workers demonstrating in Times Square and elsewhere today, asking that the minimum wage be doubled.  But history is working furiously against them.  First, the unemployment and underemployment rates produce a steady flow of replacement workers.  Second, fast food technology means that training of replacements is relatively easy.  And now comes a company, Momentum Technology, selling a machine that produces a perfect fast food hamburger without any human involvement.
