What If The Proverbial Man From Mars Was Watching CNBC?
He would think that Tesla was the only car company in the world known as Earth. Forget Ford or GM or VW. Tesla dominates the attention of the tv commentators. He would wonder why the government is providing a tax subsidy for those who can afford a $75,000 car while raising the fare for the NY subways.
Of the 6,000 or so companies traded in the market, our guy would conclude that Apple is struggling to make a living, that the iWatch would sell "only" a million units the first weekend, that Samsung's new phone would vanquish the iPhone.
And as for who runs our economy, Mr. Mars would realize that it isn't the President or Congress, the the faceless members of the Federal Reserve Board who seem to enjoy teasing the public with hints of interest rate increases and talking and writing with obscure language designed not to inform but to confuse.
And finally he would wonder when the Najarian Brothers offer of "get our options book, for free" would expire (limited time, just pay shipping).
