Who Are These Predawn Traders?

Never met any, so can't really say.  But we do know that Maria, the moving target team at CNBC, the local news stock market previews, are obsessed with stock market futures.  They seem to assert that the futures are definitive harbingers of how the markets will trade during the regular day.

Yesterday, futures were way, way down.  Dire predictions prevailed.  And the markets ended the day positive.

Treat the futures somewhat like the weather 10-day forecast.  In the ballpark but don't bet the house on it.
